Words don’t exist for my totally humbling experience you guys were involved with during the Hunts For Heroes Weekend on the San Bernard. From the reception at Letulle Park, all along the route to the F.O.R. Center in Brazoria, to the totally surprising “Welcome Home” for me, I was and still am completely blown away. Please pass on my respects to all your Matagorda County Cavalry Members. I will always cherish your friendship.

I hope you enjoyed the Veteran’s Day Program at E. Rudd Intermediate as much as we did. All of the staff and many of the students were so moved. I especially want to thank you all for coming to our school so that we could honor you. Here at E. Rudd, we really try to impress upon the students the importance of patriotism and the respect we should have for those who sacrifice to keep our country free. Without you, our program would not have been as special. Thank you very much for coming.

Time has passed and I wanted to express my THANK YOU to all of the wounderful Bikers of Matagorda County Cavalry that turned out to escort my husband to the beach in Sargent. My husband was Jerry Martin and my family and I want to express our thank you again. It was a short notice but the turn out was incredible and the cermony was so touching. Danny and all of the members were so loving yet never met us. All I can say is you all made a hard day an incredible one, I was so proud of the honer you displayed to my husband and us.

Just want to say “Thank you”
If work was not preventing me from attending, I would be there! Just want to say “Thank you” to the Matagorda County Cavalry for all that you guys do and to all of the service men and women that put their life on the line everyday. This Friday, I will be thinking of all of you. At 4:30, I will leave my desk to pray for a safe escort and a safe trip home to ALL of our troops over seas.

Mr. Longoria was wounded during the invasion of Normandy on D-Day and was a Purple Heart recipient.
Matagorda County Cavalry was contacted by the family of WWII Veteran and Fallen American Hero, Richard Longoria to honor him with a funeral escort to his final resting place. Mr. Longoria was wounded during the invasion of Normandy on D-Day and was a Purple Heart recipient. He eventually lost his leg from his wounds. Rest in Peace Brother.

I want to take this opportunity to thank Matagorda County Cavalry for your participation in the funeral of our father, Richard Longoria, Sr.
Your acknowledgement of his service to our country cannot be underscored. The Certificate of Appreciation plus the escort was truly an honor for us. Your presence from the church to the gravesite was awesome and it let everybody know that a true American Hero was going to heaven. We thank you again for your dedication of service, not only for our father, but to all of our fallen heroes.

The family of Richard Hamlin, would like to take a moment to give a heartfelt thank you to all that attended and
supported us in the death of our father, brother, and grandfather during his funeral service.
There aren’t enough words that express the gratitude we have for the support given by the staff of Taylor
Brothers , Palacios Funeral Home, the Citizens and Businesses of Palacios that flew the U.S. Flag at half staff in
honor of Richard. Not forgetting the Palacios VFW Post 2467, Bay City VFW Post 2468, and especially the Matagorda
County Cavalry who paid tribute to Richard with honors. We just can’t express the feelings we have for all that you
have done for us.
There are so many people we would like to thank for helping us through a sad and trying time that we just can’t
list them all here. Your presence and support helped us through Richard’s death.
