This send off was something none of us will ever forget

To all of Matagorda County Cavalry thank you so much for all you do. We couldn’t have asked for our hero to be celebrated any
better. This send off was something none of us will ever forget, and I’m sure it will be comforting to our soldier while he is
away to know how many people are at home thinking about him and love him. Again words cannot describe our gratitude.

Thanks again,
Chelsea Valentine

The look on his face was priceless as you were all pulling up to the house

Mr. Lee and members of the Matagorda County Cavalry

My family and I would like to thank each and every one of you so very, very much for the amazing send off for Cameron as he
prepares to leave for Okinawa, Japan. The look on his face was priceless as you were all pulling up to the house — I’m not sure
I’ve EVER seen him with a smile that big! As I said yesterday, he had no idea that you all were coming. You are truly a
wonderful group of people and we are just so honored and grateful for the love and support that you all extended to us. It was
definately a life experience that we will never forget. The entire ceremony meant a lot to Cameron, but I think what touched him
the most (and I would have to agree) was the little boy who wanted to shake his hand………………..wow. Sometimes words just
don’t seem adequate. May God bless each of you and keep you safe on your bikes as you travel to honor our men and women of the
armed services. We will forever be thankful.

Sincerely,
Stefanie Pawlosky and family

Thank you for the great send-off that you gave to both my son/grandson, Zachary Hulbert, and my nephew/grandson, Joshua Byrd

Dear Members of the Matagorda County Cavalry,

Thank you for the great send-off that you gave to both my son/grandson, Zachary Hulbert, and my nephew/grandson, Joshua Byrd on
Sunday, June 27th. They were both surprised by the care and warm thoughts Matagorda County Cavalry and our great community had
for them. We are also greatful for the welcoming words that you gave my father, Mack Byrd, for his service during the Korean War.
Our boys are both eager to leave and are also excited to explore what life has instore for them in their new adventures in life.

Sincerely,
Melanie Hulbert and

She was totally surprised and we were awed by all the love and support that you showed us

Dear Members of Matagorda County Cavalry,

Thank you for the fantastic send off you gave our daughter Lishelle. She was totally surprised and we were awed by all the love
and support that you showed us. This is an event that she will remember while she is enduring the “fun” of basic training. It was
also exciting watching Lishelle share the event with both of her Grandfathers and Uncle. They knew the ride was going to happen,
but when you called their names to give them a certificate for their service, the expression on their faces was priceless. Ken
kept a good secret. It will be hard watching her ship off, but being able to look at the pictures taken during her ride will help
with the loneliness.

Sincerely, Ken & Lisa Bacon

Never did I expect a ride for me to be anything like the one I received

Dear Matagorda County Cavalry,

Thank you so much for the ride you and members of BCC gave me on June 6th. Even though I knew it would happen eventually, you
really gave me a surprise when I heard the rumble of the motorcycles pulling into the drive. Never did I expect a ride for me to
be anything like the one I received. I’ve been on countless rides with both Cavalries and nothing had prepared me for the emotions
I felt when I realized it was my ride in which ya’ll were going on. I honestly can’t thank you enough for the pride you have left
in me for my choosing to join the military. It was one of the hardest decisions I have made in my life, and the support you all
showed me gave me the realization that people actually care. While I have received nothing but praise for my decision, I know that
not all people are as gracious of the military as others are. I expect that I will receive some aversion to wearing the uniform
but when I do, I know that there is a huge family supporting me the whole way.

Thank you very much for your love and support,
Lishelle Lynn Bacon

It was a touching ceremony that will never be forgotten

I would like to thank the Matagorda County Cavalry for the support and recognition that you all gave my brother-in-law Jarrod on
his return to Bay City. It was a touching ceremony that will never be forgotten. I was genuinely surprised that the Cavalry also
recognized and thanked my dad for being a Vietnam Veteran. He was also surprised that this happened. I think that it changed him
for the better. I am in the process of getting a bike and as soon as I do, I would like to be a part of the heroic things that the
Matagorda County Cavalry does for our American Heroes. The soldiers are heroes for protecting our freedom but the true heroes are
the ones who recognize other heroes for what they did. Please give yourselves a round of applause for the great things that you
do. My hat is off to the Matagorda County Cavalry! God Bless you!

Ken Griffin “Welcome Home”

Words cannot describe the pride that was felt on Sunday, March 21st, 2010 during the well deserved “Welcome Home” for Ken.

Ellen and I just wanted to say Thank you to the Matagorda County Cavalry. Words cannot describe the pride that was felt on Sunday
during the well deserved welcome home for Ken. The fact that I could be a part of something this special is overwhelming. To steal
the words from Ken, “This was the second best birthday I ever had, the best being the birth of Ellen”. I think that says it all.
Once again thank you to each and every member of the MCC, the police escorts, and the fire dept for making Sunday March 21st, 2010
a memorable day in our lives that will not be forgotten.

At this time 7 years ago, I was in the desert as a part of Operation Iraqi Freedom

At this time 7 years ago, I was in the desert as a part of Operation Iraqi Freedom. My prayer was that I would never have to kill
anyone. I was sure I would not make it home, and at the same time I was honored that I could die fighting. I came home, but many
bled on the side of the road, comrades as well as enemies. The most gruesome events imaginable. It still hurts me inside. I
remember the innocent little boys or the babies killed, but its the mother’s cry that I still hear when I close my eyes. It hurts
me to my soul, and yet im here and I am grateful because I never thought I would live to see your face again. At nite when I laid
down unsure of what crept in the darkness. I wrote you a letter telling you how much you meant to me, just in case I never saw you
again.
Today, I’m home and my emotions are pretty raw. I want you to know I remember them, my comrades…. and I ask that you honor
those who have been forgotten over the last 7 years. For a while I was angry that everyday people would die and the ones they
died for went along their daily lives with no thought about it. Matagorda County Cavalry was the first to make me stop and
appreciate the gratitude. The Cavalry welcomed me and my brother home and instead of anger I felt a measure of comfort that I was
not the only one who remembered my fallen brothers.

Thank You From The Bottom of Our Hearts

Matagorda County Cavalry Members,

Thank you so much for the fantastic presentation you gave when your organization stopped by for J. “Alex” (Ware)Kiefer’s
graduation from Marine Basic Training/send off party. It was a day I know none of us will ever forget, and was priceless for us
family members who love Alex so much. It is so important in today’s culture of conflicting media messages for our kids who are
serving our country so bravely to know they are supported. The Matagorda County Cavalry does this not only with words, but with
action. I can’t describe the wonder on his face when he first heard, then saw, the multitude of motorcycles coming down our
(usually quiet) country road. And then to realize that they were there to show appreciation for him! I know that this memory will
help to sustain Alex through many tough times to come as he serves. It was such a blessing for each person from your organization
to shake his hand and speak some words of encouragement. I don’t often see Alex speechless, but he was definitely awed by what he
experienced that day. Never underestimate the value of what you do for these people who are serving our country in various ways,
and for their families. Again, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

With much appreciation,
The Reher/Ware/Ritz/Mangum/Fife families
