* Obituary *

Irene Zuniga Zamora, 61, of Bay City, Texas, entered Heaven’s Gates on Tuesday, June 25, 2024. She was born March 23, 1963, in Floydada, Texas, to Demetrio Zuniga and Transita Salinas Zuniga.

A devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend who took immense pride in caring for those she loved. Irene met the love of her life in Lubbock, Texas and very soon after made Bay City her home. She was an extraordinary woman of many talents and gifts some of which include: interior decorating, crafting, taking pictures of nature, picking shells at the beach, bird watching, and countless others. She loved to serve at her church (Word of Life Church) and was always ready to take charge where she saw a need. She was a woman of integrity, beauty, and super-woman like strength that was simply unmatched. Her bravery, wisdom, and encouragement will be greatly missed by all those she touched. She will forever be embedded in our hearts and minds as we try to navigate life without her. We remain confident knowing she has finally reached her eternal destination and is with our Heavenly Father.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Demetrio and Transita Zuniga; brothers, Santiago, George Anthony, and Carlos Zuniga; sister, Maria Elena Castañeda; son, Anthony Zamora. She is survived by her husband, Rudy Zamora; sons, Rudy “Roo” Zamora, Jr. and Jo-Marten Zamora; daughters, Frances Zamora and Stephanie Zamora McClain; eight brothers; five sisters; a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family.

The family will receive relatives and friends for visitation at 9:00am Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at Turning Point Church in Bay City. Funeral services will begin at 10:00am with Rev. Melvin Ryman officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck, Texas. Pallbearers for Mrs. Zamora will be Jo-Marten Zamora, Gianni Rangel, Wade Bruening, Gilbert Morales, Christopher Zamora, and Eric Southall. Honorary pallbearers are Ethan and Elijah Lewis.
